Life at Mekaela Senior
Life at Mekaela Senior is a harmonious blend of routine and relaxation, where students maintain a strong balance between education and home life. Our boys excel in playing musical instruments like the piano and keyboard, while our girls shine in arts, swimming, and aerobics. We have thoughtfully designed programs that help students discover and develop their talents, providing them with exposure that broadens their horizons.
Through our ‘Out of the Box’ exchange program with ENSA, students have the chance to travel to Germany and engage in discussions on pressing issues such as climate change and environmental challenges. Our annual international trips to destinations like South Africa, Dubai, Thailand, and Dar es Salaam offer invaluable opportunities for students to interact with people from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the ‘Connecting Youths’ program enables our students to engage in enriching discussions with peers from Denmark and Hamburg, helping them gain new perspectives and experiences.
Facilities and Safety
As a mixed-gender school, we prioritize the integrity of both learning and morality. Our two spacious dormitories, separated by a secure fence, ensure that boys and girls are housed safely and comfortably. Dorm matrons and patrons reside within the dorms to provide constant supervision and support. We also conduct classes separately, allowing students to focus fully and avoid unnecessary distractions. At Mekaela Senior High School, we strive to create a loving community of purposeful learning that nurtures the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. We take pride in fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere, where mutual respect and tolerance thrive alongside academic excellence.
Preparation for CBC
To equip our learners to flourish and compete effectively globally, we have opted to gradually phase-out 8-4-4 curriculum, to pave way for competency-based curriculum. In respect to this, our last 8-4-4 class will sit for the national examination next year,2025. We are revamping the structures and training the teachers in readiness for the pioneer class joining senior school in 2026.
Undoubtedly, we Seniors soar with pride!
