Mekaela ratinga Pre-school
Situated within Mekaela Ratinga School in a separate block, our Pre-school provides the young ones with a home away from home environment. Here, the learners can enjoy all forms of learning without any interruptions. We provide child-friendly programmes that are designed to cater for all the needs of our learners.
This is achieved by incorporating indoors and outdoor activities which are fully supervised, since the safety of our learners is our priority. Driven by the slogan ‘help me do it myself’, we engage our learners in every learning process. Our teaching approach is learner centered which involves problem solving, creativity, among others. This is made possible since our teachers are well trained and certified. The teachers guide the learners through learning, playtime and any other interactions.
To make school life more fun and memorable, we incorporate digital learning and entertainment.
Our classes are internet-enabled with digital televisions and tablets which our teachers use to facilitate
learning and entertainment.We also serve our learners with sumptuous meals and treats of yoghurts and sausages/smokies as the learners enjoy an afternoon of TV session.
As we know, work without play makes Jack a dull boy. Our teachers have come up with programs to break classroom monotony. This includes swimming, games and sports, picnics at the beach and fun days. For evaluation, we administer internal and external assessments. This helps the teachers group the learners into their right categories as far as the outcomes are concerned and work on those who are not meeting their potential.
The pre-school is headed by a highly qualified and experienced head of department.
