Mekaela Academies has officially opened its new ultra-modern building at Ratinga Primary School

Known as Pre - School Centre, the two-storey building is located in Maweni village.

It was opened on 14/3/2020 by the sponsors Blumberg Foundation and witnessed by Ratinga school Founders Doris and Jacob as well as the Mekaela Academies Directors.

According to Mekaela Director, Stefan Wentzel, the building was constructed with the aim of meeting the needs of the growing student population at Ratinga Primary school. It will also have a well-equipped ICT laboratory where pupils will stir up their creativity and be innovative.

The building can seat 320 students at one go and consists of 8 classrooms rooms and 8 washrooms.

The Managing Director, Mr. Elijah Musili commended the Blumberg Stiftung foundation for donating a world class facility and challenged the local community to seize the opportunity and get school children to Mekaela Ratinga School.

A frame structure has been used with concrete pillars, slabs and beams. Some of the walls are made of lightweight concrete blocks to reduce the weight of the building and to create good acoustics that reduce noise levels. The interiors consist of locally sourced floor ceramic tiles and gypsum partitions. The building incorporates a garden to enable students to socialize around the center.
